St. Pete Beach Wedding by Carrie Wildes Photography and Flawless Occasions

Candace and Thomas were so great to work with—they had a very defined vision of what they wanted their wedding day to entail. Every detail for their dessert table thought out, created and incredibly fun to bring to life. Most importantly it was a beautiful representation of this adorable couple and their personalities.
We told you it was going to be a happy week!
Of course, when you are working with a photographer that just “gets it,” that is always great. Rebecca from Limelight is always inspiring to collaborate it. She gave me a description of the couple, what they were looking for and we took it from there.
Enjoy and have a lovely weekend!!!

Avila Country Club with Limelight Photography
Hope everyone is having a lovely day!
We’ve had a long term love affair with Limelight Photography …with some of our most favorite dessert tables coming from behind their lens (here and here). Well, when Limelight’s amazing skills get paired with a our bride, Enid’s super glam approach, we always get super excited to share it with you.
And this one had us the moment we saw the insanely beautiful, “bling” fuchsia and platinum color palette and the glow coming from every image.

Real Wedding (sneak peek): Ashley and Scott
Okay, so I am officially making up for my blogging-drought (and cleaning out my camera).
Having a wedding at the Florida Aquarium just might be the best idea ever, but the coolness definitely doesn’t stop there. We are also head over heels enamored with how adorable Ashley and Scott are and how great they were to work with. The wedding colors of yellow and blue are simply to die for, and let’s not forget about that delicious looking dessert bar we put together for them. Being a fellow gator, I’m especially biased to the straw tags we created for them (a little suprise from us to them). Go Gators!
This is a busy time of year for my fellow photographers but professional photos coming soon. Promise!
Enjoy the Labor Day weekend everyone!!

Candy Buffet sayings!
Time and time again I get asked about candy buffet sayings. There are quite a few out there that are used quite frequently:
1. Sweet Dreams
2. Love is Sweet! Enjoy a Treat!
3. Enjoy the Sugar Rush.
4. Love is Sweet!
5. Use the scoop, Use what you like. Leave some for others. Be polite.
6. Step right up to our Candy Buffet. Its a Sweet addition to a wonderful day!
7. Sweet Shoppe. [Insert wedding date]
8. Serving you a little treat, just to say we think you’re sweet!
In addition to these sayings, I also recommend that you come up with something personal-it doesn’t have to rhyme and it will be unique!

Gourmet Candy Buffets–what is the big deal?
For one, buffets are monstrously popular. The Knot recently voted candy buffets as one of the top trends for 2009. They are fun, interactive and engage guests more than just having the favor sitting on the table.
And two, while some are a feast for the eyes, others seem to fall short of the heights their planners must have hoped for.
So what’s the secret?
Here’s number one: buying enough candy. Sounds simplistic, but it’s key to having a great buffet. The first thing I tell brides — you really can’t do candy as a hard commodity. It’s more a decorative element. They’ll say, ‘I’m having 100 guests, and I want to give each guest 1/2 pound, so I guess I need so many pounds of candy. Sounds great, and it might be enough to actually satisfy your guests, but visually it won’t be enough to make a presence.
I tell my clients, instead of looking at candy by the numbers, take an aesthetic approach. You choose the flowers because they’re beautiful. The candy buffet should be too.
